Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Font Atlas ("we", "us", "this site") collects when you visit, how it is used, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect very little, we sell nothing, and you can decline non-essential cookies.

1. Who we are

Font Atlas is an independent typography resource website. For any privacy question or request, contact us via the contact page or at [email protected].

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address, and message you submit. Form submissions are processed by our form provider (Formspree) and delivered to us by email. We use this information only to respond to you, and we do not add you to any mailing list.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, our hosting provider records standard server logs: your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the time of the request. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running, and are retained only as long as the hosting provider's standard policy requires.

Local storage

We use your browser's local storage to remember one thing: your cookie-consent choice, so the consent banner does not reappear on every visit. This value never leaves your device.

3. Cookies and advertising

Font Atlas may display advertising served by Google AdSense or a similar network to cover the cost of running the site. Advertising networks use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • serve ads, measure how they perform, and limit how often you see the same ad;
  • where you have consented, personalise ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Specifically, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google by visiting Google Ads Settings, and from many other vendors at www.aboutads.info/choices or www.youronlinechoices.com (EU).

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are shown a consent message before any advertising cookies are set, and may decline them. Declining consent means any ads shown are non-personalised.

4. Third-party services

  • Google Fonts. Pages on this site load typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests a font file, Google receives your IP address as part of that request. Google states that Fonts requests are not used for profiling and are cached heavily. See Google Fonts privacy FAQ.
  • Formspree. Contact-form submissions pass through Formspree's servers. See the Formspree privacy policy.
  • Google AdSense (when active). See section 3 above and how Google uses data from partner sites.

5. Legal bases (GDPR)

Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we process personal data on the following bases: consent for advertising cookies and personalised ads; legitimate interest for security logging and responding to messages you send us; and legal obligation where retention is required by law.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because we hold almost no personal data — typically only contact-form emails — exercising these rights is usually as simple as asking us to delete your message. Contact us via the contact page. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

7. Children

This site is a general-audience typography resource and is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Data retention and security

Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle the enquiry, then deleted. The site is served over HTTPS. We store no accounts, no passwords, and no payment information — the site has none of those features.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy — for example, when advertising goes live or if we add an analytics tool — we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be noted on the homepage.

10. Contact

Questions about this policy: contact form or [email protected].
